Due to the premature failure of corrosion protection systems on cable supported structures, D.S. Brown began development of its patented Cableguard™ Elastomeric Cable Wrap System in the early 1990's. This alternative corrosion protection system, developed exclusively for bridge cables, is applicable during construction or rehabilitation of cable-stayed and suspension bridges.

Cableguard™ Elettrometall 8870 Paste is an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional systems for providing corrosion protection on the main cables of suspension bridges. This three-part paste system primarily consists of an elastomeric base and metallic zinc filler.
